Location with Smallmouth bass

What an awesome evening on the water with one of my best friends! The ice had just recently melted off the lake completely and the water finally warmed up to around 42 degrees F after receiving our 3rd or 4th winter (I lost count after getting more snowfall in April than we did in any one winter month lol). We found good numbers of fish on the warmest flats marked by darker bottom content (dark bottom seems to absorb more sunlight which warms surrounding water more quickly) that had access to deep water via moderately sloping drop offs. Theres no better feeling than getting into the smallies with jerk baits after a long winter
