Location with Black crappie

By far the warmest day we have had in New York in awhile considering its January. On the ice by 5am game on! Air tempeture is 42 with rain and for some people that may keep them home watching fishing shows instead of going out and catching some fish. We found a school of big crappie that were extremely aggressive that is until you find out that there is a derby on the same body of water you are on and everyone and their brother show up and the tip ups invade you. But we stuck to our guns and held down the fort and were able to catch a decent amount of quality crsppie.
