Location with Bluegill
I havent been updating regularly like I should. This is from January this year when I fished the Snowdown Ice tournament. My regular partner and cousin Terry bailed out on a weeks notice so I got a new partner from work Marty Mahr. It was his first tournament to fish. Two days before the tournament my cousin decided he can go again and chooses a different partner as well. The 3 of us agreed to meet up the day prior and do some prefishing before registration. Marty was there at 8am and Terry and I didnt arrive till around noon. Once we arrived we talked to Marty on the phone and he hadnt caught a fish all day. The report we heard at the parking lot from others wasnt very good either. We hit a few spots I had marked on GPS and the only fish I managed to pull was a sinle bluegill. We decided to move to a spot we had started the tournament at years prior and after a few minutes the first crappie hit the ice. I didnt take any pictures other that the gill that day. We narrowed it down to spoons tipped with minnows and side hooking seemed better than head and tail hooking. We took this information the next day to the tournament and managed to get 10th place but were bumped to 11th by a tie.
