The third largest and second largest in the Great Lakes system. They form a single system with Lake Huron, but it is customary to consider them as separate bodies of water. It is connected to Huron by the Straits of Mackinac.

Lake Michigan has an average depth of 275 ft, a maximum of 923 ft. Located at an altitude of 577,43 ft above sea level. The transparency of the water along the Sekki disc is 16 – 20 ft. Michigan has several large islands.

For four months of the year, Lake Michigan is ice-bound.
